Psalm 96:4-6 (NIV):  For great is the Lord and most worthy of praise; he is to be feared above all gods.  For all the gods of the nations are idols, but the Lord made the heavens.  Splendor and majesty are before him; strength and glory are in his sanctuary.

There is no god besides the Lord.  Any other God that you could name, of whatever religion, is either a corruption of Him as he has revealed Himself in the Scriptures, or it is no god at all, merely the fabrication of men’s minds.  God is the One who created the heavens and the earth, the seas, the dry land, and all that is in them.  He is the One who sustains all things, who keeps the stars burning and in their courses, and who holds all things together by His name and by His power.  Those who turn to other gods, or who say there is no god, making themsleves a god, place themselves in the path of God’s wrath.  He will not share His glory with another, especially not with one of His creatures.  But when people come to God in humbleness, when they acknowledge that He alone is God and there is no other, when they turn their hearts away from the false gods of the nations around them, rely on the blood of Jesus to make a bridge to Him, and humbly ask for forgiveness, then they place themselves in the path of His love and grace, and they will be forgiven, and cleansed, and welcomed in as His child.  To those who acknowledge that He alone is God, and who walk in His ways, He gives life everlasting, eternity in His presence.

Father, I do praise You as the true God, and firmly renounce any allegiance to any other god.  I am Yours forever, bought with the blood of Your Son, Jesus, and redeemed from the pit for Your good pleasure.  Thank You for redeeming me; thank you for Your love; thank You for Your continuing blessings.  Amen.
